In a carousel of three interactive workshops, children will be immersed in a day of enjoyment and intrigue becoming inspired and motivated to learn and have a go.

Workshop 1: Ian McMillan

Poet, comedian and broadcaster Ian McMillan is no stranger to the BBC. His rip-roaring poetry shows are legendary. He will be engaging the children in poetry and even challenging them to write their own.

Workshop 2: Steve Lomax- Maths is Magic!

During the session, we will explore the magic and beauty of mathematics and learn some fantastic tricks to amaze your friends and teachers. However, is it really ‘magic’ or can it all be explained using the power of Algebra?

Workshop 3: Bob Harding

Under the guidance of “The Mad Professor”, pupils will make their own computers that can sense and control more of the physical world than a desktop computer; developing their own interactive devices using switches or sensors, and controlling a variety of lights, motors, and other physical outputs, what fun!
