Welcome to Wiltshire Council's Services to Schools

Wiltshire Learning Trust is an umbrella alliance to describe Wiltshire Council's services to schools and settings within its responsibility to promote choice, access and quality.

Wiltshire Learning Trust is made up of a core team comprising local authority advisers, ex head teachers, experienced senior leaders, expert classroom practitioners and subject specialists, all with high levels of expertise and a proven track record of success in supporting schools. Our knowledge of local circumstances and our strategic experience of national policy puts us in the unique position of being able to tailor our support to your needs.

In addition, we works alongside the four Teaching Schools in Wiltshire to provide a range of CPD and sources of school support as outlined in the Provision Map  


Wiltshire Learning Trust provide a wide and diverse range of flexible and bespoke school effectiveness services to help raise achievement and improve the quality of teaching and provision in schools, academies and other educational settings in Wiltshire. Our services include a broad range of professional development opportunities, customised support packages, courses, conferences and consultancy.

School Improvement Strategy

Wiltshire Council, in partnership with Teaching Schools and other partner providers, has a commitment to;

  • provide opportunities for every child and young person to improve their attainment and skills so they can achieve their full potential
  • continue to improve our safeguarding services to protect the most vulnerable in our communities
  • supporting all schools to achieve excellence for all our children and young people

Our team includes advisers with experience of providing advice and guidance to agencies at local, regional and national level and OfSTED inspections.
